“Career”
the etymology of the word can be traced to the Latin word Carrus (meaning wheeled vehicle). From Latin it derived an Italian
term Carriera and French term Carriera , finally the term career was
derived into English as Career sometime
in the mid 16th century, it means a “course
of a working life".
True, a
career is a roadmap that we all take over a lifetime. We very often find that
people make multiple career changes during their lifetime. A report of the
National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1979 says that between the age of 18 to
38 years a person was found to hold 10 jobs. The report is old but the finding
is relevant till date, with people making many changes in their jobs during
their lifetime. Why does this change happen? Perhaps, the most obvious reason
being the person getting disillusioned with his career choice or the job he is
doing. So, why do people get disillusioned with the work that they are doing?
The obvious reason being due to them joining a wrong job . Here comes the
importance of taking up a right job .
How do
you make the right choice? Assess your career plan. Take a career test to
identify your strengths and attitudes and rightly map them to your aptitudes. Finally,
the outcome will tell you to take the right career path. Working in a right
career may lead to a fulfilled life, full of happiness and confidence. So, why
realize that you are at a wrong career later in life. Make an informed decision
and take the right career path.
Right
time to take a career test is between 16 to 18 years. However, if you are going
through a career dilemma you may take a career test whenever you feel the need
to !!
